He had two sons from his third marriage to Jane Tripp(e) in Putnam GA: George Pearson and Edward F. Bass. Bass came to Texas in 1850s and settled near Columbia, TX. See 1860 Fed Census Brazoria County TX. George Pearson married Laura Roberta Williams of Matagorda County, Texas 13 Oct 1863.. They had one son Edward Hamlin Bass born 16 Jun 1864 and baptized 2 Jul 1865 in Christ Church, Matagorda, Texas. Edward F. Bass died of sickness about Nov. 1862 while on sick leave from his regiment during Civil War. Both brothers attended University of Chapel Hill, N. C. until outbreak of the war. Bass died in 1884 but no documentation yet to support either deaths.

I am the great-grand niece of Laura Roberta Williams. My great grandmother was Laura Roberta's (Bert) sister, Lydia Elizabeth Williams who married George William Caldwell.
