Poem for Clay - submitted by Jean Baldwin
I just keep wishing you were still here
I will hold all the memories deep in my heart
These memories will never part
I close my eyes as I wipe a tear
I just keep wishing the pain would disappear
I didn’t get the chance to say my last good- bye
I just didn’t think you could ever die
I close my eyes as I wipe a tear
All of your love I will always hold near
In my heart and in my mind I will never be alone
When my time comes, I will meet you in heaven
Don't Stand at My Grave and Cry
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
