WWII

Indiana

Edward Raymer was my Great Grandfather.  He was married to Gertrude Raymer "Red" and was raised in Indiana.  He had a great love of motorcycles and actually traveled with one across the US with my Grandmother on the back when he moved to California.  During WWII he served in the United States Navy in the Pacific and was in the Philippines Campaign.  He worked as a fireman on a transport ship.  Later in life he lived first in Eagle Rock, CA on Cunard St. and then in Hacienda Heights.  He worked in a paint plant.  That combined with smoking and drinking unfortunately lead to his developing brain cancer in his 60's.  He is burried in the Los Angeles area.
