Grandfather told the story that when he was growing up that they had to work long hours fishing in order to make a living. By the weekend he was exhausted but there was still time and energy to court his future wife, Marion.

I didn't know my grandfather well. He lived in Boston and we lived in the west. I got to visit him at his home in Boston in the spring of his last year.
