Richard C. Barringer

SCOTIA -- Richard C. Barringer, 65, Harlau Drive, formerly of Kingston, died Friday after a short illness.

A resident of Scotia for many years, Mr. Barringer was a supervisor in the gas turbine department of General Electric, retiring in 1986 after 38 years of service. He was a member of the G. E. Quarter Century Club. During World War II, he served in the U. S. Navy.

Born in Kingston, Feb. 18, 1925, he was the son of the late George Barringer Sr. and Emmadella Wells Barringer.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Monteleone Barringer; a son Richard M. Barringer of Schenectady; three daughters, Frances C. Shepard and Laurie L. Micheli, both of Burnt Hills, and Lynda L. Barringer of Scotia; a sister, Mickey Ellsworth of Kingston; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was the brother of the late George Barringer Jr., Beatrice Ellsworth, Edna Scully, Rhea Banks, Minnie Ellsworth and Evelyn Barringer.

The funeral was Tuesday at White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave. Burial was in Sweetman's Cemetery, Charlton.
