About this Publication TitleArdelia Hall Collection: Offenbach Photographs
Offenbach was a central collection point in Germany, created in 1945 by the U.S. to recover and preserve Nazi-looted works of art in order to research restitution claims. The Offenbach Archival Depot was devoted primarily to Jewish religious items, books, and archives. It handled over two million objects during its four years of operation. Photos in this collection include library book plates (arranged by owner's last name) and markings from looted books (arranged by country).
