Civil War Soldiers - Union - UT

Captain Smith's Company mustered on April 30, 1862, to protect the telegraph and overland mail companies that had been subjected to depredations in the Territory of Utah. Compiled service records typically contain card abstracts of a soldier's original muster and hospital rolls, descriptive books, lists of deserters, returns, notational cards, and possibly enlistment papers, casualty sheets, death reports, prisoner of war papers, and correspondence.
