In my previous comment I meant MIddleburg, Virginia and not Kentucky. Margaret Ball Downman was a cousin of Esther Ball and Mary Ball. Mary was the mother of George Washington.

Zeley Reno married Mary Chinn at the home of her father Charles Chinn in what is now Middleburg, Kentucky. This house still survives to this day. Charles Chinn was one of the key landowners around Middlesburg, Virginia. He is the oldest son of Rawleigh Chinn and his mistress Margaret Ball Downman.

About this Publication Title

Revolutionary War Pensions

The records in this collection include entire pension files for soldiers and sailors who served in the Revolutionary War. Unlike selected records, which were typically chosen subjectively for genealogical content, these records reveal more details about each veteran's history and service, as well as more information about his family, state of health, and life after the war.
