He was paroled from DeCamp Hospital, Davids Island, New York, but no date was given.

These men were brothers. They were the sons of Nathaniel Cardwell and Elizabeth LNU of Pike County, AL. William was KIA at the Battle of Seven Pines. Wade survived the war and lived until 1917 in Escambia County, FL.
